1) Pace yourself
- everyone’s different and you’ll learn best when you follow the pace that’s right for you
- remember, sometimes working slower allows you to retain more information
2) Mix it up
- hard skills like AI knowledge and coding are valuable, but you’ll be working with other people, so remember that interpersonal (or soft skills) like communication and collaboration are just as important (and a mix of these are what recruiters are looking for)
3) Repeat as needed
- take a course more than once if you need to
- you’ll retain new info with each pass, notice connections between skill sets, and build on concepts to get an even stronger take on the material
4) Set realistic goals
- -set a goal of advancement, not perfection
- -be sure to celebrate small wins as you go
5) Schedule it
- if it’s not in your calendar, it’s not as likely to happen
- make a schedule and stick to it
6) Keep a record
- chart your progress and watch your knowledge grow
- making a list of which courses you took and when you took them will also be helpful for job applications
7) Make it a team sport
- set goals as a team with colleagues or friends and cheer each other on
- it’s more fun to do things together, plus you may find you can build off each other’s momentum
8) Ask questions
- reach out when you need guidance or don’t understand something
- we’re here to help
9) Have fun!
